Italy is a beautiful nation rich in culture and an ideal choice for an all-inclusive break. The country is a popular winter sports destination and boasts some excellent resorts if you’re after a truly luxurious getaway where you don’t have to lift a finger.

An all inclusive ski holiday often means you’ll have less to organize, as the travel firm you employ will arrange a number of things for you. These can include your accommodation, flights and transfers, as well as ski rental and lift passes, so you can sit back and relax. Claviere

The resort of Claviere is located in Turin, close to Italy’s border with France, and has a relaxed, friendly ambience. Situated on the Milky Way circuit – also known as the Via Lattea – Claviere offers around 400 km of ski runs, with all ability levels well catered for.

More than half of the trails are suitable for advanced and expert skiers, while the remainder cater largely for intermediate sportsmen and women; there are approximately seven slopes for beginners. A ski school is based onsite if you want some tuition, while expert skiers might want to try out cross-country skiing.

If you choose an all inclusive break at ski accommodation like the Hotel Grande Claviere, you’ll be just five minutes from the slopes, and can benefit from a range of services including kids’ clubs, daily packed lunches and unlimited free drinks every evening.

Another top spot for skiers visiting Italy is Bardonecchia, a longstanding favorite that offers 100 km of prepared slopes – more than a third of which have snow cannons to ensure excellent facilities.

The resort has hosted both skiing and snowboarding championships over its lifetime and is known as the Pearl of the Alps for its natural beauty and wide-ranging amenities. Aside from the ski runs, you’ll find four ski schools, a cinema, amusement arcades, discos and wine bars here, along with opportunities for other sports like winter biking and snow tubing.

If this sounds like your kind of resort, take a look at the Hotel La Betulla if you want to go all inclusive. The establishment is 200 m from the resort’s center and offers comfortable but functional bedrooms, a continental buffet breakfast and an evening meal.

Another option is the Best Western Hotel Rive Campo Smith, which is ideal for a luxury break. Rooms have private bathrooms, a small fridge and a TV, while the hotel offers facilities including a supervised children’s playroom and a wellness center comprising a sauna, Turkish baths and a swimming pool.

Passo Tonale

Situated on the border between Trentino and Lombardy, Passo Tonale is nestled among the Adamello-Presanella and Ortles-Cevedale mountain ranges and offers year-round skiing over 100 km of slopes.

The natural amphitheatre has seven blue-graded runs, 13 red trails and a couple of black options for expert skiers to contend with. Cross-country skiing and ice skating are both popular activities to try during your time in Passo Tonale, while you can also have a go at snowboarding and dog sledding.

Among the all-inclusive accommodations in the area is the Hotel Locanda Locatori, which is 1 km away from the center of the resort and roughly seven minutes from the nearest ski lift. You’ll benefit from a well-appointed room, a buffet breakfast, packed lunches and three-course evening meals, inclusive drinks packages from late afternoon onwards and a wellness centre with a relaxation area.
