Benidorm for Animal Lovers

Benidorm, Spain, has long been a famed holiday destination, especially popular with the British in search of sun, sea and sand on their getaways. It is a favourite with adults and kids alike, equally known for its nightlife, and for many fun attractions such as the water park, Aqualandia, and theme park, Terra Mittica. The landscape surrounding the resort is surprisingly stunning too; with rolling mountains and beautiful beaches all within easy reach of many great hotels in Benidorm, it’s really no surprise this is a favourite holiday destination of many. There are some amazing attractions for the animal lovers of the world too, with some of Spain’s top zoos and aquariums in the area.

Terra Natura

Terra Natura is unlike any other park you will visit. Here you can enjoy both a water park and a zoological experience with a twist. The zoo is 320,000 square metres and is designed to give you an up close and personal experience, with no visible barriers between you and the animals. The park is divided into four sections, to emulate different continents and climates that the animals would naturally live in. There are 200 different species here, and over 50 of them are endangered, so it’s a real opportunity to see some fantastic animals being well kept and looked after.

Mundomar

If you prefer your animals of the aquatic variety then you will love Mundomar, the best place for spotting marine life in Benidorm. As well as land dwelling creatures such as squirrel monkeys and Lemurs, there are also seals, otters, dolphins and penguins amongst the inhabitants, as well as feathered friends such as parrots and macaws. While you are here you should try and get to see at least one, but preferably all of the shows put on throughout the day. There is a dolphin show, a parrot show, an exotic bird show and a sea lion show to choose from, and if you plan your day well you can get to all of these spectacles.

Animal lovers will find plenty to encourage their passion in Benidorm at one of these fantastic venues. Other members of the family won’t be bored either, with many other great activities within these expansive parks.
